THE TEACHERS WHO MOST INSPIRED ME

THE TEACHERS WHO MOST INSPIRED ME (Tuang Za Khai)

My father is a retired middle school teacher and once reminded:

“you chose teacher, you chose poor.”

I started a teacher at Ministry of Higher Education since 2012 and realized that being a teacher isn’t an easy job. I feel that no one would become a teacher for the money or for the fabulous benefits. But my proud of being a teacher is that making a difference in the lives of students, encouraging them, dedicated to helping in finding their great dream or creativity.

Now, let me take a moment to say about the teachers who most inspired me and why. When I say this, I don’t mean the teachers who do not appear here are not inspire.

1. Awesome teacher:

I still recall how awesome my grade five teacher Siapi Ning En Cing was! She was the only teacher in the whole school at that time. She served as a headmistress as well as a cleaner. Besides, she could set every student to be busy with their lessons in each class for every single time. How awesome management was! And she was the teacher who taught me to get above 90 marks overall subjects.

2. The teacher who changed my life:

I would say Siapi Kam En Mang, headmaster of the middle school changed my life. I was extremely fevered typhoid and left school for more than five months when I was studying in grade eight. I decided to leave school forever as I felt very down because of my unrecoverable illness. One day, my father received a letter from him stating that I would be accepted to the school whenever recover from illness even till the final exam season. That delighted my hope. If I wasn’t re-accepted after five months of leave school, I may not here where I am today.

3. The teacher who proved that humility and kindness are extra-powerful:

She was a professor and head of the department but very humble and kind to everyone. She was still very concerned about her colleagues whether they are comfortable or not under her management. She truly proved to me that humility and kindness can change someone’s life and thoughts. Whose name is Dr. San San Oo; one of my most inspiring teachers.

4. The teacher who sow persistence in me:

Dr. Aung Myint Thein, my professor at Kalay University since my first-year bachelor 2003, reminded me that the quality of my thinking and knowledge should be updated every moment in the ways to be successful in life. This reflection motivated me to both seek and challenge everything. This habit likely played a part in me finding myself so passionate in where I am and what I am doing.

5. The teacher who exampled me how to be adaptable:

Although Dr. Thet Naing Oo wasn’t my teacher directly, he inspired me in so many ways. His simple style and flexibility under a given situation were my favorite. He exampled me how to live a happy life and to be adaptable in this complex world. He’s also one of the most inspired teachers in my life.

Now, what I feel is that being a teacher is more than grade books and bulletin boards.
